Vintage Master Training
Thanks to our International Vintage Master Training, we are in continuous educational and professional contact with many universities abroad.
The Institute of Viticulture and Enology of the Hungarian University of Agricultural and Life Sciences has been involved in the International Vintage Master training since its inception, with the aim of training viticulturists and winemakers who, in addition to viticulture and oenology studies, have economic and cultural knowledge, as well as an understanding and knowledge of the details of the terroir approach.
Currently, in addition to MATE and the Ecole Supérieure d'Agricultures (France), the following institutions are involved in the training:
- Universitá Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (Italy)
- Universidad politecnica de Valencia (Spain)
- Universidade de Traos-Os-Montes e Alto Douro (Portugal)
- Ecole d'Ingénieurs de Changins (Switzerland)
- Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile (Chile)
- University of Stellenbosch (South Africa)
The 25 students recruited each year will learn about the influence of climate and soils on wine, viticultural technology, oenological chemistry and analysis, and the organoleptic evaluation of wines. The programme places great emphasis on deepening the personal experience of students, and regular practical activities are organised to introduce them to the wine regions and major wineries of the country sponsoring the semester. In the last semester of the 4-semester programme, students will prepare their thesis in a host institution of their choice, with the assistance of an academic and a professional supervisor.
